What is a woman?

Men discuss this question with their buddies, sometimes when they have been drinking, and usually in a whiny voice. Oh, wait! That would be the other question: “What do women want, anyway?” My bad.

Returning to the original question, I have found two answers in just one day! Today, to be exact. I will share them with you.

Merriam-Webster: Etymology: Middle English, from Old English wIfman, from wIf woman, wife + man human being, man
1 a : an adult female person b : a woman belonging to a particular category (as by birth, residence, membership, or occupation) — usually used in combination <councilwoman>

Japanese Health Minister Hakuo Yanagisawa: birth-giving machines (and) devices

Japanese Health Minister opens mouth and inserts foot

Apparently Japanese women have not taken kindly to his definition. Right now he may be asking himself, “What do women want, anyway?”

“Child-bearing machines” indeed. Any enlightened man refers to them as “child-bearing units.” “Machines” is so de-humanizing.

Hi, Anna-Lys. I’m glad you stopped by. You are obviously an articulate and intelligent person, as are all Dr. Pepper fans.
