Same advice we give everybody. Take a clove of raw garllic, put it in your mouth and gently chew it, just enough to make some juice.
Don’t chomp down on it because it will be too strong.

Chewing the raw garlic will nuke the germs in your throat that are making your throat sore.

    Eat lots of garlic.

I drink cup after cup of hot Tang whenever I get the crud. It’s tasty, feels good on the throat and has loads of vitamin C.

    Plus…it’s what the astronauts drink!

How permanent is permanent? Weeks? Sure it isn’t allergies?

I’ve had great success with the Zicam stuff. (Cold Remedy). Also with ColdEeze lozenges – both have the same stuff, a zinc compound that keeps the virus from replicating in your nasal membrane. Even if you have the cold, it can cut the time of symptoms down dramatically.

If the doggone thing is in your chest then you probably have a secondary resiratory infection, and the zinc won’t help. Get thee to a doc.

Thank you all. I will try the Zicam and the Tang. I’m not sure I can do the garlic.

    Vodka.
Mix it with your Tang, soak the garlic in it, and take a shot before and after the Zicam. Sweet, soothing, germ killing elixir of life.
It is how the Russians survive in their climate with government provided health care.

I’ve had a cold for damned near a month as well Elzbth. Like Dave said, it could be allergies. We haven’t had a good, really cold freeze where I live and people are saying the germs, etc. that is normally killed off by now is sticking around due to the warmer weather.

I finally got fed up and started taking a bottle of antibiotics that had been abandoned by my wife a few months ago. I’m on day two. I’m hoping.

    Hope you get better soon.

Good luck, Compos. Pupster, I really like your idea. I’ll just drag my achy body off to the grocery store…

Sorry you’re feeling poorly love. I sure hope you get better in time for the big splash at Dave’s place.

    *hugs and kisses*
