Times Square has “Royal Restrooms”

With great fanfare and a ribbon cutting, Procter and Gamble (owner of Charmin toilet tissue) has opened a new restroom facility in Times Square. If you ever find yourself in Times Square when nature calls, the restroom shouldn’t be difficult to find. Just look for a huge, glowing blue sign saying “Restrooms” and an arrow pointing down.

Apparently these restrooms are “fit for royalty.”

You, too, can take the escalators upstairs to a waiting room with flat-screen TVs, a fireplace, a kids’ mini-dance floor and plush white couches. Don’t be shy about taking photos as you wait to use one of the 20 stalls.

We will refrain from being judgmental about tourists who take pictures of public restrooms. While in Italy, we took a picture of a public toilet which we had nicknamed “the rocket launcher.”

New York, New York, what a wonderful town
