Al Gore says he hasn’t ruled out 2nd run–kind of — maybe

Al Gore says he hasn’t ruled out 2nd run    While promoting his documentary in Australia, Al Gore took the time to explain American presidential campaigning to the Australians.

“I haven’t completely ruled out running for president again in the future but I don’t expect to,” Gore said before the Sunday night premiere of “An Inconvenient Truth.”

That is actually a fairly clear statement, and we can’t have that.  So he added the following comment:

“I offer the explanation not as an effort to be coy or clever. It’s just the internal shifting of gears after being in politics almost 30 years. I hate to grind the gears,” he added.

Anyway, he offered to meet with Australian Prime Minister John Howard and advise him about appropriate  Australian national policy, but apparently the P.M. is allergic to the screeching sound of grinding gears.

“I don’t take policy advice from films,” Howard told reporters.

Hmmmm.  It looks like Mr. Gore has been consuming more than his fair share of resources.
