Thanks. We are all excited. I’ll see if I can get him to post something. But it is very hard to get anything out of that boy.

That is great ,Elz. Have you heard any thing from LauraW’s brother? If there is anything good about this war, I think that it will be that the soldiers will be treated like the great people that they are-similar to the way the movies treated the WW2 soldiers. I have to admit, though, I get pretty angry when I see stories about how tight money is for married soldiers and their families. They showed a film clip of soldiers in an army store during a news story about stolen ID’s-and it surprised me that the things in the store needed to be purchased by the soldiers rather than supplied. Things like boots!

jayne, that’s outrageous. The government needs to pass a bill. For all its bigness, at the very least it should pay for soldiers’ uniform and protection needs!

I hear stories like that, but the two guys I know that went to Iraq didn’t have that problem. We got our regular issues when I served ’88-’92, but we had to pay out of pocket for any extras or if we replaced something that was less than a year old. We even got an annual payment to pay for uniform items.

Congratulations on the return of your brother. Too bad he has to stew in Mississippi for awhile before he can get on home.

    Thank you all.
DBS, “stew” is a good word. Its not the heat, it’s the humidity. But soon he will be home and drying off.
