Norwegian Badger Chases Police

Isn't there an old cliche that says, "Let sleeping badgers lie"?

Somewhere in Norway, in a town whose name contains a letter I do not have on my keyboard, a man returned home late at night and eager for sleep.  He was quickly jolted into a state of complete alertness when he awakened the badger that (unknown to the man) was dozing under his bed.

Apparently when badgers first awaken  they are extremely grumpy.  Reminds me of an old boyfriend.

Anyway, the terrified man called the police.  The police dutifully came but met "massive resistance from the badger", which chased them around and around the room before the police beat a strategic retreat. Discretion is the better part of valor.

Then the luck of the Norwegians (Irish?) kicked in. "It so happened, however, that the badger's resistance efforts ended up getting him trapped under the overturned bed, with his rear end up and exposed. It proved a perfect place for a hastily called veterinarian to give the badger a sleeping shot."

No word on the final destination of the sleeping badger.  But the owner of the bed was finally able to get a good night's sleep.

Elzbth: you totally rock. You have a good mastery of words, stringing them up just so, to our entertainment. Thanks for blogging and commenting!

Thank you for the compliment, Muslihoon. Flattery will get you. . .nothing, really. But I appreciate it.
