The #1 Cash Crop in the U.S.

Is it corn? Soybeans? Asparagus? Those nasty little high-priced red cherries which one buys in a jar and then keeps in the refrigerator for decades? Nope. According to the New Zealand Herald, the #1 cash crop in the US of A is cannabis a.k.a. aunt mary, boom, chronic, dope ganja, gangster, grass, hash, herb, kif, mary jane, pot, reefer, sinsemilla, skunk, and weed.
The article is based on a report by Jon Gettman, who may or may not have been eating Cheetos during the interview.

I believe it – I’ve read similar stories for years. As for tobacco – know that profit margin on a pack of cigarettes is like 10 – 15 cents. The same quanitiy of the Kind Herb has a profit margin MANY MANY times that.

Are we talking pure profit? I thought cash crop referred to actual money generated by the crop. That would include the massive taxes on tobacco products.

it is true weed has a big value and is more than tobbaco! for one it is green when smoked. it is also known as a skunk plank because if you smell a cannabis plant it smells like a skunk. alot of money can be made of it. if you could sell a cigrette for 15 cents you could sell a cannabis joint for 5.oo bucks!!!!

yeah true true… But, in some places around america, herb (marijuana) is sold for much higher prices… It depends on where your at…. For example… East Coast low qualitly and high prices, But on the WEST COAST it is great qulity for cheap prices….. CALIFORNIA for instance.
